Meet Our Provider | Dr. Edore Onigu-Otite, MD, MPH

Dr. Otite

Triple-Board-Certified Child, Adolescent, Addiction & General Adult Psychiatrist | Public Health (MPH)

Dr. Onigu-Otite (“Dr. Otite”) received her medical degree from the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, Nigeria. She completed her General Psychiatry residency and a Child & Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, followed by an Addiction Psychiatry fellowship at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. She also earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, further strengthening her work at the intersection of mental health, addiction, and public health.

Dr. Otite began her academic career as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where she also served as Medical Director of the Center for Child and Family Traumatic Stress at the Kennedy Krieger Institute. In July 2014, she joined the faculty at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where she is now a Full Professor of Psychiatry and dedicated medical educator, committed to advancing the field of child and adolescent mental health and addiction science through clinical innovation, teaching, research, and mentorship.

Dr. Otite is passionate about helping children, teens, and young adults heal, grow, and thrive. She works collaboratively with parents, schools, and other healthcare professionals to develop personalized, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to each child’s needs.
